nmt llink binaries

This binary works for the NMT Popcorn Hour A-100 unit, it may work on other NMT units as well.

Basic installation

There are two (2) files needed for installation on the NetworkMediaTank. But the good news is that it requires no difficult instructions.

Installing to hard disk

Download all two files:

Unzip llink-installer.zip so that you get two additional files, llink-installer.html and llink-installer.cgi-RENAME-ME.bin.

Because WinZIP has a tendency to corrupt *.cgi files, please rename llink-installer.cgi-RENAME-ME.bin to llink-installer.cgi.

Then upload the files to your nmt, most easily to your HDD (you need to save them in the root directory). You could also use a USB stick, if so, place the files in the root of the stick. You should upload a total of three files to your PCH.

You must also make llink-installer.cgi be executable.

Have the NMT Applications FTP service enabled and connect with an ftp client that can send raw/custom commands:

site chmod 755 llink-installer.cgi

DOS FTP command:

quote SITE CHMOD 755 llink-installer.cgi
  1. Upload llink-installer.html, llink-installer.cgi and llink-2.1.2-nmt.tar.gz to your nmt.
  2. Make the llink-installer.cgi file executable: site chmod 755 llink-installer.cgi (see above).
  3. Push "SOURCE" button on the remote control to get your to your NMT start page.
  4. Select "HARD_DISK" (or USB stick if you chose that).
  5. Select "Files" (Forth icon on the right. Video, Music, Photos, Files - or push the blue button on the remote).
  6. Pick "llink-installer.html".
  7. Select "Install to HARD_DISK" - if this fails, you did not make llink-installer.cgi executable
  8. If all goes well, you can now push "SOURCE"-button on the remote control and find "llink-nmt" as a new option.

Running from USB stick

Download two files:

Unzip llink-installer.zip so that you get two files, llink-installer.html and llink-installer.cgi-RENAME-ME.bin.

Because WinZIP has a tendency to corrupt *.cgi files, please rename llink-installer.cgi-RENAME-ME.bin to llink-installer.cgi.

Place them in the root of your USB stick. Untar the llink-2.1.2-nmt.tar.gz to the root of your USB stick. This should create a directory called llink at the root level. Copy the other two files over. Your USB stick should have:

/llink-installer.html
/llink-installer.cgi
/llink/
/llink/llink
/llink/llink.conf
/llink/skin/

etc. The remaining files are not shown.

You must also make llink-installer.cgi be executable.

  1. Push "Sources" to get your to your nmt start page
  2. Select "USB_DRIVE_A" (or USB_DRIVE_A-1, etc as appropriate)
  3. Select "Files" (Forth icon on the right. Video, Music, Photos, Files)
  4. Pick "llink-installer.html".
  5. Select "Run from USB_DRIVE_A" if this fails, you did not make llink-installer.cgi executable
  6. If all goes well, you can now push "Sources" and find "llink-nmt" as a new option.
